Who Am I


I have been associated with Coal India Limited through one or more of her subsidiaries for more than 40 years now. I started my career as a Junior mine engineer with CIL in 1973 and retired as General Manager in the year 2005.During this period I got the oprrtunity to work at various coal fields in India as well as visited mines around the world.

Post retirement I started up my own consultancy and served as chief consultant for Prakash Industry Limited,CGM in SEML  as well as VP-Mines in FECPL.

  2. Entitled “Use of Steel Tram Line Sleepers in Underground Mines – Mine Metal & Fuel”.
  3. Entitled “Mine Mechanization in Underground Mines of SECL with Special Reference to SDL” presented in the International Seminar on Mine Mechanization & productivity held at Banglore in 1991.
  4. "Hard Roof Management as tried in DATONG Coalfield.” Paper presented in ISM in 1995 and published by Institute of Engineers in their journal.
  5. Proposed Amendments in Coal Mines Act & Regulation”. Paper presented in Seminar held at Bilaspur Regional Engineering College in 1995.
  6. Strategy for improving the production in Underground Mine – Special reference to SECL”. Paper presented in National Seminar MINPROPS – 98 held at Chandrapur Engineering College, Chandrapur (February’98).
  7.  Research and development in SECL” – Special item on SECL – Mine Metal & Fuel – July, 1999.

  • Associated with World Bank project on behalf of SECL , CME China (PSLW project negotiation) , PSLW project of Russia
  • Registered as a Recognized Qualified Person to prepare mining plans by Ministry of Mines. Ref No. RQP/NGP/338/2005/A.
  • Registered as a Recognized Qualified Person to prepare mining plans by Ministry of Coal. Ref No. 34011/(23)/2005-CPAM.
  • Awarded UNDP Fellowship in Safety Engineering in September, 1985 and visited Turin (Italy, U.K., and West Germany
  • 41 years experience in Project appraisal, Techno – Economic evaluation of project report, coal linkage, long wall mining, Project planning and as Team Lead for ECL/SECL mines.
